The CLE By the Hour seminar is designed to allow attorneys the opportunity to obtain Trial Practice, Ethics, and Professionalism credits prior to the annual CLE deadline. The seminar will cover a variety of legal issues using videos, panelists, and interactive discussions of real-life scenarios to provide interesting and practical education. Using the nationally award-winning Lincoln on Professionalism program, one panel of speakers will use writings from Abraham Lincoln to illustrate legal ethics principles that are applicable in the modern practice of law. A separate panel of judges from various Georgia courts will give attorneys insight on their view of attorney professionalism from the bench. The seminar will also cover ethics issues that arise in mediation as well as steps attorneys can take to prevent legal malpractice lawsuits and bar complaints. In addition to these presentations on ethics and professionalism, other presenters will explain the revisions to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, recent developments in laws pertaining to post-judgment collection, and tips for improving deposition skills in difficult situations. This seminar is open to members of the Atlanta Bar Association as well as non-members.
